National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM)
Why In News: Over 10 crore rural women have now been mobilized into 90 lakh Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under DAY–NRLM, making it one of the largest female-led poverty alleviation movements in the world.
Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM)
- Launched: 2010 (as NRLM) — renamed in 2016
- Predecessor: Swarnajayanti Grameen Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY)
- Type: Centrally Sponsored Scheme (shared funding by Centre + States)
- Nodal Ministry: Ministry of Rural Development
- Primary Strategy: Women-led SHG-based social & financial mobilization
Four Core Components
- Social mobilization & institution building (women-led SHGs & federations)
- Financial inclusion (bank linkage, formal credit, insurance)
- Sustainable livelihoods (farm & non-farm income generation)
- Social inclusion & entitlement access (last-mile delivery of govt schemes)

Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN)
Why in news: UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) — India’s flagship Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) — has completed 9 years since its launch on 21 October 2016, having transformed regional aviation and made affordable air travel a reality for common citizens.
Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) Scheme
- Launched: 21 October 2016
- First flight: Shimla → Delhi (27 April 2017), flagged off by PM Modi
- Nodal Ministry: Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA)
- Implementing Agency: Airports Authority of India (AAI)
- Objective:
- Boost regional air connectivity
- Make air travel affordable to citizens
- Redevelop underserved & unserved airports

Conference of Parties (COP10)
Why in news: India participated in COP10 of the International Convention against Doping in Sport (20–22 Oct 2025, UNESCO HQ, Paris) and was re-elected Vice-Chair of the Bureau for Asia-Pacific (Group IV) for 2025–27.
International Convention against Doping in Sport:
- Established by: UNESCO, in 2005
- Nature: Only legally binding global treaty to eliminate doping in sports
- States Parties: 192 countries
- Depositary: UNESCO
- UN Registration: 6 March 2007
Conference of Parties (COP10) Outcomes:
- India re-elected Vice-Chair — Asia-Pacific (Group IV)
- Azerbaijan elected Chair for Asia-Pacific
- Saudi Arabia also elected Vice-Chair (along with India)
- Convention reforms will focus on better governance & stronger anti-doping enforcement
UNESCO Regional Groupings (used for Bureau elections)

National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM)
Why in news: The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has launched a public contest to design the official logo of the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) — with a ₹1 lakh prize — to boost public participation in India’s clean energy transition.
National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) — Key Facts
- Approved by: Union Cabinet (headed by PM Modi)
- Total Outlay:₹19,744 crore
- ₹17,490 crore for SIGHT Programme (Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition) — largest component
- Nodal Ministry: MNRE (Ministry of New & Renewable Energy)
Mission Targets by 2030
- Minimum 5 million metric tonnes (MMT) of green hydrogen per year
- ~125 GW renewable energy capacity addition
- ₹8 lakh crore+ investments
- 6 lakh+ green jobs
- ₹1 lakh crore fossil fuel import savings
- 50 MMT CO₂ emissions reduction per year
What is Green Hydrogen?
- Hydrogen can be produced from water, fossil fuels, or biomass
- Electrolysis method: Electricity splits water into H₂ + O₂
- If renewable energy (solar/wind/hydro) powers electrolysis → Hydrogen produced is “Green Hydrogen” (zero carbon emissions in entire process)
- Considered one of the cleanest future fuels

Defence Procurement Manual 2025
Why in news: Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh released the Defence Procurement Manual (DPM) 2025 — to be effective from 1 November 2025 — replacing the 16-year-old DPM 2009 for all revenue procurement by the armed forces and MoD establishments (nearly ₹1 lakh crore annually).
Defence Procurement Manual (DPM) 2025 — Key Highlights
- Effective from: 1 Nov 2025
- Scope: Revenue procurement (spares, maintenance, repair, services)
- Replaces: DPM 2009 (but only for RFPs issued after 1 Nov 2025)
- RFPs issued up to 31 Oct 2025 → continue under DPM 2009
Key Reforms Introduced:
- Ease of Doing Business + Indigenisation Push
- Liquidated Damages (delay penalty):
- Earlier → flat 0.5% per week
- Now:
- Normal: max 10% LD only for inordinate delay
- Indigenisation projects: only 0.1% per week (5× relaxation)
- Assured orders up to 5+ years → big boost for Indian defence startups/MSMEs
- Limited Tender allowed up to ₹50 lakh (earlier limit was lower)
- No more No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Ordnance Factory Board → barrier removed for private sector
- 15% upfront growth provision for refits/overhauls → reduces platform downtime
- PAC (Proprietary Article Certificate) procurement rules redefined (validity still 2 years)

Why in news: PM Narendra Modi congratulated Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim as Malaysia assumed the ASEAN Chairmanship, ahead of upcoming ASEAN Summits.
